I just realized that my link was to my book, not my quilting/craft blog, so I've made a slight correction. :p

What a great idea. Since new mothers now have given a lot of thought to what they want for the baby's room, etc., this idea makes perfect sense and is a thoughtful way to go about creating a special handmade gift.

it's beautiful michelle! What a great idea! I've always thought about doing something like that, but again, I am crap at sewing. The lines are so different and nice. Can't wait to see the next one!

i LOVE the blanket that you made, michelle! i especially appreciated that you took the time to chose something that i had already registered for and turn it into something much more beautiful. the blanket is now sitting in our little guy's moses basket awaiting his arrival. thank you!

Well don't look too closely Erin, because not all of the lines are straight. But I also cheeted. My dual feed foot also comes with a quilting bar. Its so cool. You stick the bar into this little hole and match it up with the line you just sewed.

Check out that link and you can see a picture of the quilting bar I'm talking about. I'm thinking next of making Alice a quilt, but am really nervous to do a twin size quilt. Seems like it would be a ton of work. We'll see.

It's beautiful, Michelle! Quilting is the equivalent of speaking Mandarin to me--very foreign from my abilities. I'm in awe of your handiwork. : )

I was wanting to add some quilting to Ethan's bedspread but was too nervous that the lines wouldn't be parallel. How did you sew such straight lines?

By the way it looks great! What a great gift.
